The U block is a 30/36 cm thick pre-drilled hempcrete block designed to make it easy to cast a reinforced concrete ring beam around a building. It is used, in conjunction with the pre-drilled blocks, in the IsoHemp Hempro construction system to create load-bearing and insulated walls formed only of hempcrete blocks, with a reinforced concrete frame cast inside them.
