Lime Plaster

Lime plaster is a traditional finish for interior walls and ceilings which has been used for many hundreds of years in this country and around the world. Its use had all but died out in the UK, reducing year-on-year during the middle part of the 20th century. Thankfully, since the 1980s, lime plaster and render have enjoyed a revival sparked by a renewed understanding of their importance in the appropriate repair and maintenance of historic buildings.

Since then, with their vapour-permeable characteristics which have benefits for human occupants as well as the building fabric itself, lime plasters have become synonymous with sustainable new build construction and retrofit.
